However, the advent of social networking sites like myspace, facebook, xanga, and friendster have aided child predators by leaps and bounds. Although these sites are a great way to meet new people and reunite friends, State Attorney General Roy Cooper says they're also providing online predators with even more opportunities to lure unsuspecting children.

More and more of the area's community colleges are touting their nursing programs, and hospitals are encouraging high school grads to pursue a career in what seems to be a field desperate for workers.
