There are any number of ways to mark the beginning of a New York City summer, but NPR is putting our chips on one special day in June when Ask Me Another kicks off SummerStage 2013 in Manhattan.

The Brooklyn-based NPR program is the first Central Park event of the famed summer-long performing arts festival this year, taping a FREE, live performance at Central Park's Rumsey Playfield on Friday, June 14 at 8 p.m. (ET).

Come see host Ophira Eisenberg, house musician Jonathan Coulton and the rest of the team test the wits, wiles and smarts of a stacked lineup of VIPs, including B.J. Novak from NBC's The Office, filmmaker and comedian David Wain, singer-songwriter Nellie McKay, puzzlemaster Will Shortz (fresh off his seven-day, table tennis tour of Alaska), Studio 360's Kurt Andersen and writer Anne Kreamer.

This post has been updated to reflect current guest bookings for the event.
