Mid-Term Elections' Early Voting Period Begins Statewide

Oct 17, 2018

Voters have more than two weeks to cast their mid-term elections ballots ahead of Election Day during the state’s early voting period, which began on Wednesday morning.

North Carolina's early-voting period runs Oct. 17 - Nov. 3. Residents can cast their ballots at any early voting site within their county.

Over the next 18 days, registered voters can cast their ballots at any one-stop absentee voting site in their county.  Residents who haven’t yet registered to vote may still cast a ballot during early voting through same-day registration. Voters who would like to register at the polls need to bring a form of ID or documentation proving their current address with them.

Early voting starts on Wednesday, Oct. 17 and ends on Saturday, Nov. 3.  Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Most counties in Eastern North Carolina are only operating early voting sites on weekdays and on Saturday, Nov. 3.  A few counties in the region are offering additional weekend hours.
