This week, President Obama granted clemency to 20 people involved in America’s criminal justice system.
He pardoned 12 people convicted of crimes from 1964 to 1997, and commuted the sentences of eight federal inmates serving long sentences for drug offenses.
Barbara Scrivner was sentenced to prison for 30 years for conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine. She was one of the eight pardoned by President Obama and is now scheduled to go to a halfway house and then be released in June.
