Three-Minute Fiction

(SOUNDBITE OF CLOCK TICKING)

ARUN RATH, HOST:

Calling all Three-Minute Fiction fans. I want to remind you that you only have a few hours left to send in your stories for Round 11 of our Three-Minute Fiction contest. The challenge this round is to write a story about a character who finds something they have no intention of returning.

Now, as you're getting ready to submit, remember, your story cannot be more than 600 words and only one entry per person, and, like our judge Karen Russell said, have fun with it. To submit your story, go to our website, npr.org/threeminutefiction. Get your story in by 11:59 Eastern Time tonight. We will not accept late submissions.

If you win, you'll get to have your story read on the air and published in the fall issue of the Paris Review. You'll also get to talk with our judge Karen Russell. Time is almost up, so send in your stories now and good luck.
