Join Second Wind Eco Tours for this popular adventure. We’ll paddle from the Cedar Point Wildlife Landing to Jones Island, which is located in the White Oak River. Depending on wind and tide, it’s usually a 20 to 30 minute paddle to the island, and is suitable for beginning adult paddlers. There, you’ll learn about the restoration projects on the island which have been installed by the federation and community partners. We will also relax under the shade of giant oak trees during a gentle yoga session and take an afternoon swim. The trip departs from and returns to the Cedar Point Wildlife Landing in the Croatan National Forest off N.C. 58 in Cedar Point. From the junction of NC 58 and NC 24 in Cape Carteret, drive north approximately one mile. Turn left onto VFW Road and follow signs. Please bring bottled water, a towel, a hat or visor, sunscreen, water shoes and sunglasses. Wear your bathing suit if you’d like to join in the swim.
