NPR NEWS OFFERS POLITICAL COVERAGE ON EVERY PLATFORM
July 13, 2016; Washington, D.C. - Building on the comprehensive live reporting listeners depended on during the primary season, NPR News will offer live, prime time coverage from the Republican National Convention July 18 – 21 in Cleveland and the Democratic National Convention July 25 – 28 in Philadelphia. NPR News coverage will be available to listeners --and viewers!-- across a wide range of platforms: broadcast, podcast, online, and TV, thanks to a partnership with PBS NewsHour.

"Partnering with PBS and working with our Member stations we ensure that our combined audiences will get the most comprehensive local and national perspectives."
Broadcast
PBS NewsHour's Judy Woodruff and Gwen Ifill, along with Weekend Edition host Rachel Martin, will kick off the special coverage each night of the conventions beginning 8:00 PM (ET) and will continue through 11 PM (ET) or when the convention proceedings conclude.

The special will feature live podium speeches, newsmaker and delegate interviews, and analysis from NPR's National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson, Senior Editor Ron Elving and Political Editor Domenico Montanaro. NPR's Congressional Reporter Susan Davis will bring us reports from the Convention floor along with PBS NewsHour's Correspondents John Yang and Lisa Desjardins. Syndicated columnist Mark Shields, New York Times columnist David Brooks and Cook Political Report's Amy Walter will offer additional insights.
NPR's Linda Wertheimer will host live post-convention coverage, in tandem with NPR reporters inside and outside the arenas in Cleveland and Philadelphia.
