If it’s a stereo system, with a separate receiver and speakers it is likely you do not have an antenna connected to the receiver. It’s called a di-pole antenna and you can buy one here for $1.95 plus $6.95 shipping. You can also find them at a local Ace Hardware, Walmart, Target, Best Buy and other department stores.
If you’re using a less expensive portable radio, you’ll need to extend the antenna and play with it some or connect an external antenna to it to improve reception. If you have a Bose radio or similar high quality radio they also need antennas but are simple a wire that plugs into the back of the radio and hangs down.
